The course expands upon the basic skills in English nurtured at the junior level, wherein the pupils develop proper reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills. Improvement in vocabulary and construction of complex sentences shall be taught with a view toward the coherent expression of ideas. Advanced grammar on tenses, conjunctions, and prepositions will be introduced in order to create a better sense of structure in the English language.
This is further provided through interactive activities involving discussions, role-plays, and creative writing, among others, where students build their communication skills and get the confidence to execute them in English in diverse situations. However, this course places equal importance on developing comprehension skills, where the learners should get the chance to read short stories and passages to develop their ability or understanding and interpreting written English. By the end of the course, students will be well-equipped to rise to more challenging language tasks, having acquired a solid basis in English at the intermediate level that would facilitate both academic and everyday communication.
