This course involves introducing the students to the basics of yoga and meditation, focusing on the promotion of physical and mental health. Students will be introduced to the basics of yoga poses (asanas) so that flexibility, strength, and balance can be developed and learn proper breathing techniques for heightened focus and energy. The course is mainly concerned with the development of mindfulness, making students aware of their bodies and minds relaxed.
Meditation sessions will involve students in practices to cultivate relaxation, concentration, and inner peace. During guided meditations, learn to manage stress, expand emotional resilience, and find openness toward inner calm. By the completion of this course, learners will have established a strong foundation in yoga and meditation practices that will enable them to continue on their own in daily life toward overall wellness and a more centered, peaceful mind.
